Large roller fabrication using stainless steel is expensive and not practical from an econom- ic standpoint. Stainless steel cladding offers a remedy for this issue. The procedure is to manufacture the roller out of carbon steel and then cover it with a up to 6mm layer of stain- less steel 304 or 316L depending on the customer’s requirements. Stainless steel is excep- tionally resilient and resistant to environmental influences.
